Wilderness Aware Rafting

Meet at our riverside headquarters located just 2 miles South of Buena Vista, Colorado 30-45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Upon arrival our helpful staff will direct you on how to prepare for the day and will make recommendations about rental gear (wetsuits, splash jackets and river shoes) based on weather/ water conditions. After getting changed into your river clothes and receiving a comprehensive safety orientation, we will transport you about 15 minutes to the river put-in location. After paddling through 6 miles of the heart pumping rapids of the Numbers section you will either end your half-day trip and return to our office, or if you are doing the full-day trip you will enjoy a riverside lunch. The full-day trip then continues into the technical class III-IV Narrows section and ends at our office take-out. Don't forget to view your photos before saying good bye to your guide!

Rendez-vous à notre siège social au bord de la rivière situé à seulement 2 miles au sud de Buena Vista, Colorado 30 à 45 minutes avant l'heure de départ prévue. À votre arrivée, notre personnel serviable vous indiquera comment vous préparer pour la journée et vous fera des recommandations sur la location de matériel (combinaisons, vestes anti-éclaboussures et chaussures de rivière) en fonction des conditions météorologiques et de l'eau. Après avoir revêtu vos vêtements de rivière et reçu une orientation complète sur la sécurité, nous vous transporterons environ 15 minutes jusqu'au lieu de mise en place de la rivière. Après avoir pagayé à travers 6 miles des rapides de la section Numbers, vous terminerez votre excursion d'une demi-journée et retournerez à notre bureau, ou si vous faites l'excursion d'une journée, vous profiterez d'un déjeuner au bord de la rivière. L'excursion d'une journée complète se poursuit ensuite dans la section de classe technique III-IV Narrows et se termine à notre bureau à emporter. N'oubliez pas de regarder vos photos avant de dire au revoir à votre guide !

we booked the rafting activity for one of our bachelor party of 6. Shout out to out captain ETHAN. we are first time rafting. we had a great time and did the all day including the numbers rafting (more extreme and fun). Ethan was a great guide-he also gave us some historic background around the area; very informative and helpful. would recommend and go back again. - phung

We were a party of 7 ranging from 15 to 50 years old. Four of us had rafted class III and IV previously. For the others it was their first time. We did a half day Browns Canyon / half day Numbers combo trip. The morning acted as a warm up and training session that allowed our guide Tony to make sure we were ready for the difficulty of the Numbers section in the afternoon. Tony was a great guide. He kept us safe and we didn't have any swimmers the entire trip. We rented the wet suit, swim shoes and splash jacket. I recommend the wet suit for the front two people as they get many lapfuls of cold water on them. You'll want the swim shoes too as your feet are tucked in the raft and are wet the whole time. The Numbers isn't for everyone but if you have a guide like Tony and can follow instructions, it is an exciting trip.

Thank you Wilderness for allowing us to include the numbers in our 3-day rafting trip. And thank you to our guides; Rob, Kevin, Olivia, Mara.. you guys made this trip what it was, and what it was.. was nothing short of amazing!! KEVIN, you killed it on the numbers for us.. we were a machine fueled on the extreme buddy!! But all of the guides went out of their way to teach safe rafting and made sure that all of us were comfortable before we hit the river. They were confident and gave clear instructions throughout the rafting adventure giving us knowledge nuggets of the area and the river along the way. They were also a blast to hang out it with on and off the river! We invented something called an Onnit but you're going to have to go on the trip and ask Rob to make you one!! It was one of those trips that you never want to end and can't stop thinking about once you do pull the last raft out of the water! I'll definitely be back, keep the tu tu on, even if the glitter makes your room mate mad!!
