I’ve been on roughly a dozen food tours: Boston, Chicago, Montreal, Quebec City and several in Southern California. It’s the best way to get to know a neighborhood and its food, history and culture. Greg’s is the BEST food tour I’ve ever been on! He’s not only a native to this neighborhood, his Italian family has lived here continuously since the late 1800s (he’ll show you the apartment where his great grandmother was born). He personally knows all of the owners at each stop (and a few customers), speaks their language and only stops at the very best quality places. The food offerings are plentiful (this is the only tour where I walked away with leftovers). And, oh, the stories Greg has to tell! He could write a book with a chapter for each stop on all of his tours (I’d be the first in line to buy it). Between food stops, Greg pointed out interesting architecture and photo opps. In one of the churches we visited, a well-dressed older woman greeted him and soon a full-blown conversation ensued in Italian. Turns out she’s lived in the neighborhood and attended this church for over 60 years. I suspect Greg will get an invitation to her home for pasta soon. My mom, sister and I loved every minute of our tour and can’t wait to return to NYC to go on another food walk with Greg.

Hello Lisa, Thanks for the gracious review! I've always loved sharing my family history and Italian American heritage on the Italians of Greenwich Village Food Tour. My family stories add their own flavor to the food samples. I'm honored that being a food tour aficionado, my tour was the BEST you have taken. And I'm always thrilled when people enjoy the tour. Happy Happy Holidays, Walking Greg

What can I say. Greg was very knowledgeable about the area, having grown up there. Tells you about the history of the area with some great stories. His groups are small which lets you have interaction with him. He is very personable and takes the time to answer any question that you might have. All along the way, you are stopping at different places to get a bite of food. Each place was better than the one before, which is difficult to do when everything was excellent. From the focaccia to the prosciutto, to the awesome meatballs, rice balls and pasta and ending with some gelato. I highly recommend Gregs Walking Tour. We are looking forward to taking more of his tours in the future

Hi! It makes me most happy, as an Italian American boy, you came to the tour hungry and left full. My grandma's spirit is alive and well, every time I share this neighborhood's delicious food accompanied with my family's neighborhood stories and history. So glad you enjoyed yourselves, and I look forward to eating and touring again soon. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Walking Greg
