Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

I just love going here, I have been here three times and it always is breathtaking and exciting. If you love nature and being outside you will love being here.

Great views on this 10-minute ride from the desert to the mountain. We left 60 degrees at base and found 25 and snow on ground at the top. Pretty long wait, although in a comfortable setting, to board the tram. Recommend going early in the day, especially if you intend to hike (tough when there is snow) extensively before returning to base. Also, pricey-$29 per person for the tram, plus $10 to park.

I was not impressed by this tram ride. It was OK, but not good. We went when there was no line, but I would have hated to wait in some of the lines mentioned in the reviews. Based on the parking lot, it seems like it can get very busy. There is a nice view from the top, but not necessarily better than any view if you did hiking in the area.
