Great way to see any city, give you time to get your head around where everything is and what you want to go back and visit. We normally do the full loop first and then pick our stops. If you hop off too early, sometimes there is not enough time to visit a really interesting place that may have been better than one already visited. However in Philadelphia, on the 2nd day, we went to the Betsy Ross house, waited for our 30 minute pickup (with other people), first half hour passes - no bus. Second half hour still no bus so we call the company - road works not visiting this stop today. Complaint is this, the stop we waited at was stop 2 - 5 minutes from the start - the company did not send anyone to put up a sign re cancellation nor did they see if there were any people waiting to catch the bus - they just diverted. Needless to say, those of us waiting were not happy. When we spoke to the lady in charge at stop 1, she basically said it was outside her control and that was that. No apology, no action to make sure no other passengers were inconvenienced - not good enough!

I am pleased that overall, you enjoyed your tour experience.I do apologize for any inconvenience you experienced due to the construction related road closures near the Betsy Ross house. The sales staff or guide should have alerted you to the situation. I apologize that this did not happen.We do pride ourselves on effective communication and try to alert visitors whenever there is a deviation in our tour route.

I took the tour to get an overview of the city. My guide, Ginger, was very knowledgeable with a dry sense of humour which appeals to me. The tour seems to visit most of the 'must see' points in Philadelphia and allowed me to choose where I wanted to go later in the day. A courtesy shuttle ran from my airport hotel and was very efficient both for picking up and getting me back. I stayed on board for the whole 90 minute tour, then I walked the historic district and then boarded another bus so that I could 'hop off' at the market. A good day out and I learned a lot, too.

The double decker hop on hop off tour offers 27 stops and highlights major sites and attractions so it is a great way to familiarize yourself with the city, and helps you narrow down sites that you consider a must see. I am also pleased you were able to use our complimentary hotel shuttle. It is such an easy way to get to Stop 1 to begin the tour.

As a philadelphia resident who wanted to give her visitor an overview of Philadelphia, I was very disappointed by this tour. First of all stops 13 & 14 which take you through Fairmount Park were not on the bus portion of the trip. One could get off the bus and take a trolley to visit these stops but it was not explained when we purchased the tickets nor when we stopped at the Art Museum that we needed to get off the bus there and go to a trolly for those 2 stops. The guides we had were not that interesting. There was more talk about who was getting on and off the bus than much else. You can take the Phlash bus (no guide) for $5 dollars (free for seniors) and get on and off at the important sights though it doesn't run out of season.

Hello coffeeguycr, Thank-you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works & Big Bus Philadelphia. Our sales & tour staff take great pride in communicating effectively with guests & in providing an interesting & engaging tour. I apologize that this was not your experience. Typically guides tell guests in advance of Stop 15, the Rocky Steps, and transfer spot, about the Zoo Loop portion of the tour & the need to switch vehicles if one is planning to go to Stops 13 & 14. The double decker buses do not travel out into that section of the tour due to low hanging trolley wires and over passes which are potential safety issues for those sitting on top. Our tour is promoted and sold as a hop on/hop off tour, so our guides do announce all the stops and ask if anyone would like to hop off.
