The Whitney Plantation is something everyone should see. The exhibits and narratives of life on the plantation are sobering. We absorbed the history of the plantation and walked through the plantation with a self-guided tour. We had a private driver from Isabelle’s who shared a lot of New Orleans history and information about current life in the city driving to/from the plantations. He used to be a chef, so he knew all about the New Orleans food scene which we loved hearing about too. He also took us to St Joseph’s plantation where we had a excellent in-person guide with a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend going in a private tour with Isabelle’s.

From the start, I had instant communication with Isabelle, and she contacted me throughout the booking. On the day of the tour, we were picked up promptly at the hotel by Giselle. She is extremely knowledgeable and provided an outstanding tour. The 5 hours just flew! Thank you for the fabulous day.

Rene is the best tour guide I have ever experienced in my many years of travel. His passion and knowledge of New Orleans made the tour so much fun and informative. The van was comfortable and made our tour so convenient with hotel pick up. The amount of time allotted for each plantation was perfect. We got to do everything that we wanted to do without having to wait. I would definitely recommend tours by Isabelle. And you MUST request Rene!
