This was our first time viewing the nighttime sky with powerful telescopes. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave clear information. I did have trouble hearing at times when his back was turned. I really enjoyed the experience in spite of the extreme cold. I needed a parka besides all the double layering. All in all, this was a very cool and memorable time.

Rick is a retired NASA astronomer and space scientist and he has a wealth of information. His assistant Jeff ensures you have a great view of the celestial body Rick is referencing. We went in December and it was extremely cold. Layer your clothes and don't be afraid to take advantage of the blanket. We went at 9, and it was very dark with the sky and constellations amazingly bright overhead. Everyone got a chance at the telescopes, we wandered from one to the other, Jeff was there to help us and make sure we got the right view. Rick is confined to a wheelchair, but it sure doesn't stifle his animated personality as he carefully and clearly outlines what you are going to see and points to it in the sky with a high-powered laser pointer. We could not get this experience where we live. You could hear all of us exclaiming, "wow" and "amazing" as we focused on the moon or the rings of Saturn or the birthplace of stars. A wonderful opportunity! I overstayed and kept them late chatting, and Rick was so gracious to a fellow January child. We were so grateful we went.
