We met at our location and headed to our first speakeasy down a narrow alleyway. I am so glad our tour guide Madelyn was with us to show us the way. We had our drinks served in coffee cups and they were delicious! We listened to Madelyn talk about Prohibition and the history of the building and then we walked to our next stop. We went into a burger place and then went inside a bank vault to go upstairs to a super cozy fun bar. The bartender would make whatever you wanted to drink. We again listened to more from Madelyn and then we headed into our last stop in the back of an art gallery. It was very hip and drinks were expensive, but lots of fun! I did this tour with Alex in 2018 and had lots of fun and that is why I came back. In 2018 we did 4 stops, but Madelyn said the 4th stop was no longer as everyone has found out about it and it is way to crowded. I would have loved one more stop, but we still had a great night. Madelyn even recommended having dinner at the Thai Dinner(I am gluten free) and it was a great place and the food was delicious. We will do the tour again the next time we are in town. Thanks for a fun evening!

This tour was interesting and showed us some places that we wouldn't have been able to see otherwise and the tour guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. However, unfortunately, the rest was not as advertised. The tour description states "the meeting point is always at a park". This wasn't the case, in fact the tour guide messaged the same afternoon via e-mail reporting a change of both time (15 minutes earlier) and meeting point last minute. It was just pure luck that I got WiFi and received this e-mail otherwise we would have missed it as, travelling from a different country, our phones weren't switched on for data. We ended up rushing there and were 10 minutes late and there was no-one waiting downstairs for us but luckily they were there when we spoke to the burger joint owners where we then met the group in the first speakeasy upstairs. Next, the tour description states we would be going to "six or seven" speakeasies. This wasn't the case, we went to 3 and even then we were slightly rushed out the second one. Finally, the tour reported that at the end point "the guide will give the option to either stay at the last speakeasy for a third drink or to explore the stimulated and vivid neighborhood where the tour ends". Again, we were just left in the last place and the tour guide disappeared and went home before we could give a tip or ask any questions. This was disappointing as we were not given a chance to ask about the area or for recommendations and, more importantly, how to get home as the tour reports that it starts and ends in the same place but this wasn't the case and we had journey planned for a certain location. Overall, the information about the history of speakeasies was interesting, and to re-iterate, our tour guide was knowledgeable and good at her job. The speakeasies we did visit were fun and cocktails were delicious (albeit very expensive) however it was also frustrating that some places added a compulsory tip for serving more than a certain number of people even though normally with other group tours I've been on there are discounts for an organised group rather than extra costs. To add insult to injury, once place then asked for a separate tip on the final bill after the compulsory 20% in the first place which seemed ludicrous on an already $45 cost for 2 cocktails. The price for the tour in general was very reasonable, and had it been as advertised and had our tour guide communicated better on leaving then my review may have been different but unfortunately this wasn't the case.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. It looks like you booked this before we addressed some of the problems that we had on Viator. We used to go to more places but didn't always have seating and some we would only show and not stay. However, since CoviD some have permanently closed such as Angel Share and Chumleys just to name a few. Now we have table service and better quality service and go to the best ones only. As per the change in schedule we've updated this as well. We sometimes change the meeting point and time by 15min or so because some of the establishments sometimes run late and we therefore change the order of the stops. We now inform our customers to provide us with a phone number at which we can reach you at. I wasn't able to find your reservation via this review but if you submit a refund request and I will approve it.
