Your day in California wine country starts as you hop aboard the Sonoma Wine Trolley, modeled after the famous historical cable cars of San Francisco. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable tour guide whisks you off to four outstanding Sonoma-area wineries, known for both their wines and their hospitality. Each wine tasting takes place at the winery and a representatives at each winery will explain the different varietals you’ll sample and the background of the wineries (wine tasting fees are not included and you can expect fees of $30 to $40). There will be wonderful photo opportunities on this tour and your friendly guide will be happy to take a photo or two of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country.

In early February my husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley with our awesome driver, Kyle. Unbeknownst to us, we had the trolley all to ourselves. Yes, a PRIVATE tour for my 30th birthday. A private tour, not because we bought out the trolley for the afternoon, but because we were the only reservation for the day. We were in shock to say the least. We were so delighted that this company was still willing to go forward with the tour although just the two of us were going. Thank you!! The wineries were fantastic, the weather was perfect, the picnic was delicious, and it was by far one of the most memorable and special birthdays that I have ever had. Thank you Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley! We highly recommend this tour!

The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley was a great way to experience wine tasting. Guy was an excellent tour guide. We were able to spend time at each winery. The lunch that was provided by the Girl and the Fig was delicious and served by Guy with professionalism. The lunch was served at a Benzinger winery picnic area where Guy placed table cloths and brought out sandwiches on a covered plate. We also had an orzo salad and an assortment of desserts. Be sure to buy a bottle a wine to accompany your lunch. You can always take home what you don't drink. We visited Imagery, Benzinger, Chateau St. Jean. and VJB. We never felt rushed and could have enjoyed a glass of wine after the tasting at each winery if we wanted. We were always aware of the time we were suppose to meet back at the trolley. My sister and I would definitely go on this tour again!

Hello and thank you for taking time to write us about your recent Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley tour. The Sonoma Valley has so many exciting things going on and wineries to explore. We chose to do the tastings this way so we would not be out drinking and driving and we didn't want to go in a tour bus. We liked the idea of the old trolley! We are so glad that we did!! It was outstanding. Guy was our driver and he had great information on the history of Sonoma during the tour. He also made sure we all drank plenty of water during the tours to offset the wine consumption. The water was provided on the trolley, which was great!! We went to Ravenswood, Buena Vista, Imagery and Mayo Winery. We had to pay tasting fees at each winery. Ravenswood was $15 per person, Buena Vista was $20 per person, Imagery was $10 per person and Mayo was $5 per person. We were able to share tastings at some of the places. Every winery included a tour with the tasting, except for Imagery. (Be aware: The only way to have the tasting fees waved was to join the wine clubs. We purchased bottles of wine at several places and they did not wave the tasting fees with the purchase, we paid the tasting fees plus the cost of the bottles.) We would highly recommend this trolley tour to anyone wanting to go do tasting in Sonoma, but you are not sure where to start...well this is a great place, because they choose the wineries for you!! We loved it and will do it again when we come back to Sonoma!! Thanks for a great experience!!
