South Kaibab Trail
The South Kaibab Trail is a must-hike trail in Grand Canyon National Park. It was blasted out of the Canyon's sheer walls by the National Park Service in the 1920s, and today offers a dramatic journey to amazing features like Ooh Aah Point, Cedar Ridge and Skeleton Point. On this tour our goal, which is not guaranteed as each group is unique, is Skeleton Point, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch looking down onto the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch far below us. The hike back is arduous, so be ready for a quick descent and a longer return!

Sentier Kaibab Sud

This experience was once in a lifetime!!! The views were spectacular and our tour guide, Shayne, kept us going with facts and stories about the location. They really prepare you before the actual trip so you know what to expect. The hike was also physically challenging but Shayne made sure everyone was comfortable and safe. Definitely would do this again! Totally worth every single cent!

My son and I visited the Grand Canyon for my birthday and had the most amazing day hike with Kurt (Curt). It was supposed to be a group hike but it ended up just being my son, Kurt and I. We made an amazing vegan breakfast and lunch for us. He hiked at our speed (novices) and knew so much about the history and topography of the area. It was so educational and informative. He was just one of the nicest young men and the hike, views, experience, everything was amazing. I would absolutely recommended this company and Kurt for a once in a lifetime hike of the Grand Canyon South Rim.

My husband and I wanted to hike the south rim of the Grand Canyon with a guide. Internet research and reviews lead us to Wildland Trekking. We selected the south Kaibab guided hike and completed the health form that they required. I weigh 102, have degenerative disc disease, had a double lumbar disc fusion 3 years ago, as well as a fear of height. I included this information on the health history form. Within a day or two, I received an email from Wildland Trekking's health assessor. I appreciated their interest in my health and safety. They gave us several ideas to help prepare for the hike. As a result, we started a stair step (30 minute) program and weight lifting at a local fitness center, 3 times per week, for 3 months before our hike. When the day of our hike arrived, we were very prepared physically and mentally. We also appreciate the fact that there were only 5 hikers in our group. Our guide, Louie Herron, was fantastic! We were provided with backpacks, poles, snacks, and water. He also provided a healthy and wonderful lunch. Louie was very safety conscious and knowledgeable about hiking and the history of the Grand Canyon. Likewise, he provided ample opportunity for breaks along the way. We highly recommend Wildland Trekking and Louie. This hike far surpassed all expectations that we had. It was amazing!!
