We have moved to a new location! We are now located at 820 Olowalu Village Rd, next to the Olowalu General Store on the way to Lahaina!

We are the oldest butterfly farm in Hawaii and the only one that offers private tours of a butterfly farm in the State. We are a certified Monarch Waystation and strive to save the butterflies through propagation, research and education. We’re the only place in the Islands to see live Hawaiian butterflies in our walk in butterfly flight house. Unlike Mainland butterfly farms, all of our butterflies are home bred and hand raised on our organic farm. We do not purchase or ship in our butterflies from abroad, therefore all of our butterflies are endemic to Hawaii.

Our stop at the butterfly farm was well worth it. Geoff is a fun and knowledgeable guide. Unlike mainland butterfly sanctuaries, this one relies fully on the health and care of only the pre existing local butterfly population. You can really see how much effort it takes to maintain and grow these delicate creatures in such a natural way! My kids loved feeding the goats and finding the hidden chameleon in the little tree. Also, there’s a great hiking trail full of eucalyptus trees not too much further up the road! Definitely will recommend and visit again

We went to visit the butterfly farm with my wife and my two daughters 11 & 18 while on a recent trip to Maui, at first we were not sure what to expect but it was one of the more memorable events of our trip. The scenic drive there was about 30 minutes from where we staying and easy to find. The tour itself was laid back, relaxed and extremely educational and informative, we now know the importance of butterflies in our eco-system and have a renewed respect for these beautiful insects. I would highly recommend this unique and rewarding day out to anyone while visiting Maui.

Geoff was an excellent host, teaching us so much about butterflies and their life cycle. My 5 year old and 3 year old had a great time interacting with the caterpillars and butterflies, and I learned some very interesting things about butterflies and their impact on the environment. The property is very beautiful, and it is apparent that much care and attention has gone into making the farm a lovely habitat for the butterflies. We loved our visit to the Maui butterfly farm!
