We visited Toa Luau at the beginning of our honeymoon and it remained one of the best experiences we had all week! The host struck just the right balance of entertainment and education - he was hilarious and warm and clearly enjoys what he does. The participatory part of the experience was great, and we both enjoyed all the various food-prep activities - each guide member was funny and personable. The food was also very tasty and there was enough variety to suit my dietary restrictions. The dinner-time show was very enjoyable as well with a great mix of dances, songs feats. It's hard to remember anything about this experience that wasn't top-notch! A few tips if you're considering Toa Luau: (1) if you come to Hawaii from the states, especially the eastern side, don't do this on your first or second night because being full on luau food + the time change will make you too tired to fully enjoy the dinner show (2) definitely try all of the food preparation stations! (3) make time to walk around the botanical garden - the waterfall is a nice feature if you're a LOST fan, but the grounds themselves are worth spending some time within

This was the best thing we did on our two week vacation to Oahu. Hands on learning, cultural dances and stories from all of Polynesia, and a very good meal (I thought the pork was great). The staff/performers were really great people that made taking part in the “experiences” that much easier. They are proud of their heritage, and love showing it off. The biggest compliment I can give to Cousin Billy and his super friendly staff is when we go back to Hawaii I’d go to Tao Luau again.

We had an amazing time at the Toa Luau and learned a lot about the different cultures prior to the dinner/show. The hosts and hostesses are very nice and willing to ask any questions you may have. Plus, they are awesome performers. The food is delicious and the ambiance cannot be beat - you are in the middle of Waimea Valley, and actually the price of the Luau includes admission to the gardens and waterfall and both are definitely worth taking the time to see. If you are in Oahu, this is a must do activity. A special shout out to Calvin (Kelvin?) who showed us around, did an awesome job climbing up the tree, and participated in the awe-inspiring fire show - it was nice to meet you! The great part is this is family run, and when you leave, you feel like you are part of their family - Aloha :-)!
