Turnagain Arm Tour

Aperçu

Spend 5 hours on a half-day tour of the scenic Turnagain Arm—a narrow branch of the Cook Inlet that's backed by the Chugach Mountains. Drive on America's most scenic road, the famous Seward Highway, and stop at spots like Beluga Point to scan the landscape for wildlife. At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, see where injured and orphaned animals are brought to be rehabilitated, and observe large mammals like caribou, bison, and elk. Lunch is not included but available for purchase at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Later, drive through the Chugach Mountains, before finishing the guided, small group tour with pick up and drop off in Anchorage.

Activity Level: EASY

Guests should be able to walk short distances on uneven ground. Trails surfaces vary from paved to uneven natural terrain. Tour participants must be able to walk a short distance and be able to get in/out of the tour vehicle with minimal assistance.

Wife and I took the Turnagain Arm Tour on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 and we throughly enjoyed it. Our guide, Albert was training a new guide, Monica and both were very knowledgeable and informative. We had beautiful weather and very little traffic. Seeing eagles up close was great but watching an eagle swoop in and snatch his meal out of the water was amazing. The highlight was the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation compound were we got up close and learned about, Bison, Reindeer, Elk, Muskox, Porcupine, Eagle, Owls, Linx, Black and Brown Bear. Great Job! Great Tour! Great People!

Only had a free day in Alaska while attending a business meeting. This tour was the perfect fit for my free day. Beautiful tour along the coast outside of Anchorage. The wildlife sanctuary was very nice too!

The 5 hour Turnaround tour from Anchorage is a great way to spend half and day. I came to Anchorage on business and chose this tour that I found online. They came to get me at the Captain Cook Hotel in a very nice clean Mercedes bus. The guide Scott was great, friendly, funny and has lots of natural history knowledge. The trip was very nice and I was lucky to have a very pleasant day for the tour. Scott was good to remind me of the tour by texting me, which was a nice touch. Very customer service oriented company. Impressed with their level of service.
