Awesome views of waterfalls and mountains. The hike itself wasn’t too strenuous. Also, the Bald Eagle RULES!

My wife and I recommend this tour, especially if you do not want a lot of hiking. The ride to the falls on the Blue Ridge Pkwy was beautiful! But... If you are prone to motion sickness take your Dramamine first. The falls were great and we had time to linger a while at each. What made the trip completely worth it was the fun and educational commentary and insights of our guides Ely and Ian. Their love of the area and knowledge of the plants and landscape gave us a deep appreciation for what we were seeing. Definitely would tour with them again.

Thank you for your thorough feedback and time providing us a review. We love hearing that you deeply appreciated the stories and conversation about nature and history on your tour. We have taken your comments seriously, and we are addressing the language on our website so that guests are prepared for some mountain driving in order to access the most scenic areas of Pisgah National Forest. We have also updated this tour so that guests and guides are prepared to hike 2.5 miles, to maximize time in the woods and minimize driving. Thank you again. We look forward to sharing with you the best of our mountains again, on a return trip to Asheville!

I booked this tour because I was under the impression that we would spend most of our time outside. Before the tour, I contacted the operators and was told the following: “We spend about 2.5 hours walking and about 2 hours or less driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stop at many overlooks to take in the scenic views :)” I went on the tour, but I was a little disappointed that we didn’t do much walking. We stopped at many beautiful scenic points (as promised), but I would have been okay with seeing fewer of them if it had meant spending more time hiking. I think it was a bit deceptive to call it a hike. I don’t even think we spent 2.5 hours outside in total. The longest walk was about 30mins-1hr on an unpaved road. The rest of the non-van time was spent hanging out at scenic points. I know that much of this is based on personal preference, so I expressed these concerns through a private message. The operators responded with an automated message encouraging me to leave a review. I can see how this might have been a great tour for someone else. The guide was excellent and I’m really happy that I had a chance to see the park without needing to drive. Everyone else on the tour appeared to enjoy it. Also, $100 is more than a fair cost for the amount of labor involved in organizing the experience. This just wasn’t the tour for me, which wasn’t especially clear from the description.

Hello, we wish to thank you for your feedback and your time, and we are glad that you enjoyed the scenic and informative aspects of your tour. We deeply regret that we did not meet all your expectations or prepare you for the driving required to reach the destinations on this tour. We guarantee around 2.5 miles of hiking for this tour, and it sounds like you may have been with a group with some physical limitations. In order to access the most scenic waterfalls and views of Pisgah National Forest, it is a 40-minute drive outside of Asheville. We want to make this up to you and make it right, so please do reach out to us about a refund. We addressed this situation by clarifying the language in the tour description, to make sure all guests are prepared to walk at least 2 miles. We have also clarified guest expectations with the tour guides, so that we minimize short stops and maximize hiking time.
