Johnson Square

We will learn about the beginning of Georgia and tour the original squares. Discuss the Colonial way of life churches, monuments and markers in this area as we journey into a timeline walk of the Historic District. Then our tour proceeds down Bull Street. The tour is one miles of walking and includes stops at Civil War homes, Cemetery, Theaters and famous movie locations.

We all had a great time. I am from Savannah and have been on several tours, but I learned so much about the Historic District in Savannah.

My husband and I were the only 2 in the group the day we took the tour. But Michelle only takes a maximum of 10 on her tours so it would have been excellent anyway. You can tell she lives and breathes the history of her city, Savannah Georgia. I would love to be in her company again to learn more about this old historic city.

We loved our tour. Michelle was a fabulous guide and we really had a great time. We were only in Savannah for a day, and this tour was the perfect way to get to know the city, its charm, its character, and one of its locals. Michelle was 15 minutes early, waiting in the square, which was great, as we were early too. She was very knowledgeable, and personalised the tour to our interests and to hers. There was one other couple on the tour, and Michelle said she loves having small groups because she can really chat with us and get to know what we're interested in hearing about. She usually leads tours with a maximum of 10-15, which is perfect because it's not fun when you are in a massive group and can't hear anything. The best part of the tour was the fact that Michelle told us stories from her life as they related to the buildings and squares. Hearing those anecdotes from a local was just so cool, and really made the tour feel very personal. She also was patient while I snapped some photos along the way (something I doubt you get on trolley tour), and she gave us some great tips on what to do after the tour (treats, dinner, other historical homes to tour, etc). Our time with Michelle was invaluable, and we loved every minute of it. We learned so much, and got a lot out of our short time with her. Thank you, Michelle!
