My family went on this white water rafting trip and had a ball. Our ages are from 15 to 54 years old and we had all been rafting before. The day we went we did the Upper Pigeon Forge section it was up to class III's and IV's rapids. Our guide Erica was great! I would highly recommend that you choose this company our of the many that there are to choose from in Hartford.

Everything about this trip was rad. First of all we had a group of 20 people ages 11-65 so let's just say we were accommodating several physical fitness and swimming levels. Also this was everyone's first time white water rafting. The white water itself is not too hardcore and was the perfect level of fun and safe for all who participated. Everyone in my raft had Benji and we all loved him, he made the trip hysterical and we kind of wanted to kidnap him and take him back to our cabin to be our entertainer at our family reunion. Also we did this trip during the rainy 4th of July week. It didn't matter it is an activity that is great for rain or shine. The rain with the smoky mountains and surrounding vegetation made us feel like we were on an exotic adventure. You will get soaked definitely bring a change of clothes and towels for the car. Also bring a snack or drink because you are around 40-60 minutes from pigeon forge. Totally worth the drive and such a great value, I think it was 30 bucks per person what a steal!

Some friends and I decided to go white water rafting while on a "kids free" vacation and chose Big Creek Expeditions.....man are we glad we did!! Not only was the entire experience great from the easy online scheduling, the friendly women at check in and the enthusiastic river guides but it was made that much better because of our guide, Benji. From the moment I saw his red, white and blue painted toenails I knew he was a little thrown off and was exactly who I wanted as a guide. Sure enough, he called out my party's name and he didn't disappoint. The guy is crazy but very professional. He's not only a great river guide but was very knowledgeable on things like the local plant life and history of the area. We all had a great time and would definitely go back. If you go, ask for Benji. You won't be sorry.
