The relocation and renovation of The Whitney Museum is simply astounding. I checked out the exhibit: "America Is Hard to See" and reminisced over stacked black and white televisions, pop art, and of course, iconic works by Frank Stella. Although the exhibit just wrapped up, I'm sure the Whitney's new space will not disappoint. Before fall's chill sinks in, check out the upstairs patio "Studio Cafe", where they serve delicious gazpachos, soups, squash toasts... or opt for a finer dining experience @ "Untitled" on the first floor.

We just visited the new Witney Museum. Renzo Piano's building is astounding. While the exterior is visually interesting, it's the interior that is breathtaking. The space, the light, the ambience and the views combine to make museum going a unique pleasure. The opening show was a retrospective of contemporary American Art and didn't miss a beat.

Very nice museum mostly dedicated to modern art, so do not expect to see any classics or otherwise. Start from the top floor and work your way down.
