I must admit to being excited and a little nervous about the length of this hike. Sure enough, my knees started to protest about mile 2 because this hike is probably 95% downhill. Our guide Matt was patient and slowed to a pace that I could sustain. He was very good to point out alternatives to the planned route but left it up to me to decide what I could do which I really appreciated. Walking sticks were my salvation. We were glad to have Matt along because at several points along the way, we would have been unsure which way to go. Matt was engaging and very informative about the park and what we were seeing. He is an avid climber and we enjoyed hearing about that. It was obvious he is passionate about what he does. The scenery was breathtaking and allows you vistas you can't get from your car. I absolutely recommend this hike to anyone who wants to get out there and explore. Just maybe bring some walking sticks!

Our guide, Quinn, was well informed, courteous, prompt and personable. He brought interesting bits of information to the guide, helped us understand better about Yosemite and its history, and pointed out interesting sights along the way, enhancing our experience.

I was skeptical about paying for a guide when the trails are marked, but Kirsten was worth every penny. She was awesome with our kids( their first major hike) This is my first TripAdvisor review and I submitted it for a reason!!!!!
