All Gone Surfing Hawaii lessons start on the sand with ocean awareness and safety. Then we get you right into the surf for a rush of wind and waves. No worries, our licensed instructors are trained in first aid and lifeguard CPR. Once in the water, we show you how to read the waves, position your take off, and the etiquette of wave riding. Whether you’re a one-on-one type or you prefer fun with friends, our customized lessons are built to make your adventure on the waves one to remember.

I did the private lesson with Trevor and he was really great. It was my first time ever surfing and I was able to get up on a wave by the end! (albeit small beginner waves :) ). Trevor was super nice, funny, and a great guide. When I was looking to book, I didn't really know which company to choose and took a leap of faith with Gone Surfing. I have no regrets, and I wouldn't go anywhere else to learn how to surf! I also paid for the photographer and got some great shots! Wonderful time, and made great memories.

I took my first surfing ever lesson with Shawn. Let me start with I am 57 years old! I have always been a great swimmer and absolutely love the ocean. We were staying at the Outrigger Reef resort and had an oceanfront room. I was watching the surfers for 2 days and finally decided that I wanted to try it. I got to Gone Surfing and they were very friendly and eager to help me. I signed up for a 1.5 hour lesson with Shawn. We were on the ground for like 1/2 hour to learn about the techniques and do's and dont's. We paddled out to the surf, he actually hooks his foot on your board when your arms get tired, and they do get tired. We visited the whole way out there. He was so personable. Once out where the waves were he made sure that I felt confident with what was going to happen. When I caught my first wave I was able to stand up and ride it for maybe 30 yards. I fell off and cried because it was so amazing. I was able to catch a few more waves and had an incredible experience. I highly recommend "Gone Surfing" for first timers or if you want to surf with some fun instructors. I will definitely surf again when I get back to Hawaii. Thanks Shawn! and Thanks Gone Surfing!

Ive had numerous lessons with GSH with Shawn, Trevor and Kaz and i can say these guys not only know the breaks inside out, but are extremely excellent surfers and ready to provide a wealth of tips for you to improve your skills. Every session i learn something new and the guys are also great guys who love what they do. You want to be taught by guys who know the breaks inside out and have the ability to handle any surf so they can help you navigate the breaks and put you in the best position to get epic rides. These guys are it. Highly recommended.
