The river was so low due to the lack of rain recently that we anticipated a rather muted experience. Despite the less than thrilling rapids, we had an amazing time, largely due to our exceptional guide, Aaron. Aaron was knowledgeable, humorous, thoughtful and professional. We had a great morning. The entire crew was very welcoming. Would like to mention Jenna and Carlise in the ticket booth. They were fun, courteous and gave us some wonderful tips about Durango's restaurants, shops and other fun activities. This company hires the best. All four of us truly enjoyed the experience.

The guides, Theo, Cole, Scott, and Cali were all great. They did a nice job of keeping us all entertained and safe. Cali was my guide and she did a great job. The water was really low so the river was very technical. It looked more like a maze than a river for much of the trip but she never let us get stuck. We may have slid over a few rocks and bumped a few more but we never stopped. Even with the low water the trip is still lots of fun, mostly because of the guides. Smelter rapid is still fun, even at this low low water level. I would recommend rafting as a good way to spend the day.
