Przegląd
Odkryj zimę w Arktyce na Alasce! Przeżyj legendarną gościnność i autentyczną interpretację, dzięki której słynie z oryginalnej wyprawy Arctic Circle Drive Adventure. Podróżuj na północ słynną autostradą Dalton. Zobacz niezwykły rurociąg Trans Alaska. Przeżyj potężną rzekę Jukon. Poznaj z bliska niesamowitą arktyczną tundrę. Przekrocz koło podbiegunowe i zdobądź oficjalny certyfikat Arctic Circle Adventure.

My title says, go with the best, Northern is the best! Rachel guided our journey to Coldfoot Camp, crossing the Arctic Circle with ceremony! She was informative, fun and provided wonderful customer service. Tim took over our Adventure to Wiseman wishing the weather would clear to see a light show. Although the clouds did not clear Tim told his Alaska stories and really kept us comfortable and entertained. Seems everyone in Coldfoot Camp treats each other like family! We loved just sitting and listening to guides, truckers and visitors come and go. All respect nature, encourage questions and love to have conversation. Tim was our tour guide to Atigun Pass, a crazy curving narrow steep pass! These guides treated us special, sitting, chatting at lunch or breakfast. Encouraged our walk to the visitors center which was another do not miss, it was great! Ranger seemed thrilled to have us visit, sit, chat, inform and Tim was right there with us. The best customer service! Our first experience on a small 8 passenger plane, fun, the pilot really had a great sense of humor as we teased, but he got us safely back to Fairbanks. We really wished we had booked more time, a continued adventure north. Maybe another trip, and it will only be with Northern Alaska Tour Company!

Our first guide Ryan was great. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. His demeanor is very even and that's definitely a skill when having to deal with so many personality types. He was also an excellent driver. Felt very safe. Cold foot was great. The scenery is amazing. We didn't see the Aurora but we know that has nothing to do with the tour leaders. Sometimes mother nature makes up her own mind. Would definitely do it again.

My wife and I booked an excursion with Northern Alaska Tour Company during our escorted ‘Natural Wonders of Alaska’ tour with Titan Travel. We were based for 3 nights on a room only basis at the welcoming and comfortable Bridgewater Hotel, Fairbanks, located on the banks of the Chena River. We decided to book an optional evening excursion operated by this tour company, flying with Air Arctic from Fairbanks over the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot and then by road along the Dalton Highway to the small village of Wiseman. It wasn't a cheap excursion at $500 per person but ticked so many boxes and took me to places I would not have seen nor experienced otherwise during my tour of Alaska. Our 8 seater light aircraft took off from Fairbanks and we were fortunate to have a warm evening with clear skies offering panoramic views in all directions. Our friendly pilot was also our knowledgeable guide, providing us with facts, stories and anecdotes through our headphones whilst drawing our attention to the wonderful landscapes we passed over below...and safely flying our aircraft at the same time!  As we approached Coldfoot he explained that it's a key stopping point for vehicles using the Dalton Highway and especially the large tractor-trailers and articulated lorries taking epuipment and supplies through to the oilfields at Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean. It also has an important airfiled where our aircraft landed and a minibus took our party the 13 miles north along the Dalton Highway to the small village of Wiseman.  It's located at Mile 189 on the highway and about a further 5 miles down a narrow road along Wiseman Creek on the banks of the Middle Fork of the Koyukuk River. It was only connected to the highway in the early 1990s and was originally one of a number of small mining communities in the Brooks Range. On our arrival in Wiseman, we were introduced to Jack Reakoff, a proud resident and very knowledgeable on the history of Wiseman. He led us through the village drawing our attention to a number of machinery including tractors and a bulldozer which had seen better days. He also discussed some of the historical buildings dotted around the village such as Henry Pingel Cabin, Carl Frank Cabin and the Wiseman Historical Museum. Our tour of the village ended inside the museum (which apparently is only open to organised tour groups) where he explained that Wiseman was established in the early 20th century after gold prospectors travelled north from Coldfoot in search of new mining deposits. The new community was originally called Wrights, was later changed to Nolan and finally became Wiseman in 1923. He also explained how important self-subsistence is to the residents of Wiseman as well as to many other communities in this remote area of Alaska. He discussed wildlife hunting and various hunting methods and showed a number of animal skins and skulls as well as various horns and antlers, representative of the wildlife being hunted in the Wiseman area. We then had time to explore some of the other objects on display in the museum including a sledge, skis and kitchen utensils as well as reading some of the many information panels on the walls illustrating the history of the area. As our visit came to an end, he invited us to return to Wiseman hoping next time we'd have a longer stay. We then retraced our route by minibus back along the Dalton Highway to Coldfoot and took our return flight to Fairbanks, landing at Fairbanks around midnight. I found the views from the aircraft on the return flight even more spectacular as the sun's light created some wonderful shadows across such varied landscapes and the glistening waters of the Yukon River in this land of the 'Midnight Sun'. I thoroughly enjoyed my wonderful trip flying over the Brooks Range across the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot and then by road along the Dalton Highway to Wiseman. I even have a certificate, issued after landing back in Fairbanks, to prove that I've flown over the Arctic Circle! This trip for me was money well spent, and should you go for it, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

Thank you Rys J for your very thorough review of the Arctic Circle Air Adventure, the experience by air across the Arctic Circle during the summer months. (just to share with other readers there is a difference between summer and winter). But the detail you shared is spot on for summer. And yes, we have departures in the evening for travelers to take advantage of the midnight sun during the summer. I am sorry for the delay .. I had responded but this just came up with being rejected as a response...???. Thank you again for joining us and best wishes for a bright spring! Kathy
