My wife and I are avid RZR enthusiasts and decided to take a UTV desert tour while visiting our daughter and her husband in Phoenix. We brought them along for their first ATV/UTV adventure and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Derik & Travis were our guides and I don't believe that we could have even asked for anyone better. Derik was born and raised in Phoenix and his interest, knowledge, and passion for the area are obvious and noteworthy. Travis is an avid outdoorsman and adventurer who is able to relate his experiences to the tour with amazing clarity. Both are extremely well suited for their roles as desert guides. The tour started with the entire group gathering to do some required paperwork and then attend a briefing. We all introduced ourselves and then Derik and Travis explained the tour in detail, the Tomcars that we would be driving, and all required safety (personal as well as Tomcar) measures for us to follow. No mishaps on this trip was the goal and we met it. We hopped into our Tomcars and headed out into the desert. Driving the Tomcar was fun. The Tomcars are UTVs that were designed and built for the Israeli Defense Force and are true military-grade vehicles. There are no extra accessories on these machines, they are simple, reliable machines that are built to keep functioning regardless. They seat 4 and are comfortable and easy to drive. We stopped twice on the trip, once to learn about desert vegetation and once to learn about wildlife. The guides made the sessions interactive and very interesting. Water was provided, as well as DustGaitors to manage the dust. Wear clothing that you don't mind getting very dusty, because you will gather dust. The desert is rugged and beautiful, and we traveled quite a ways into it on our tour. Plan on spending a full 3 - 3.5 hours in your Tomcar riding the trails, there are no shortcuts here at all. I've already decided that I'll be back to Desert Wolf Tours for another adventure on our next visit. With any luck we'll run into Derik and Travis again. If you are even slightly considering this tour, do yourself a huge favor and go for it. I don't believe that you can be disappointed.

In addition to the drive which was beyond my wildest dream, Derik’s talk on plants was most memorable part of the tour for me. I’ve definitely learned some survival tips.
