I had been looking forward very much to this helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon. However, it was most unfortunate that I was allocated a central seat in the rear of the helicopter. The person to my left and to my right took lots of photos , as did the people in the front seats. This meant that my vision was substantially impaired and I did not experience the thrill that I was looking forward to nor the thrill that the other passengers felt.
The pilot was very friendly and at one point hovered to allow the views and photos. However the points of interest were to the right and my wife sitting to my left and I in the central rear expected the pilot to turn round to allow the good view to be sharted by all passengers. This did not happen. In the end, a disappointing experience. My advice is to try and ensure front seats on the helicopter.
The 8-seater choppers provide excellent views with big windows all around. The pilot flew as quickly over the tree tops to get to the Canyon as possible to ensure we maximized our viewing time. He provided good commentary. The views are spectacular. I was originally thinking of going by plane but really glad I took the chopper. Fully recommend it
