We booked through our concierge, Aloha Concierges, which had recommended this zip line. Our ages: 60 (2), mid-70's (2). Though the lines will hold tons, there's a weight limit (230? 270?), and they have a scale in the office. They provide the harness, helmet, and gloves. Several back roads to find the place. A couple that are windy for a while, including a hair pin turn, but it's nothing like the Road to Hana. 2 clean, modern outhouses and a sink with running water outside. Paper cups and a water cooler in the office. Three funny/zany guys lead the trip, using goofy nicknames. These guys give clear instructions and keep you moving effortlessly through the course. They transfer your harness from one course to the next without you even noticing, as they converse and joke and keep a high level of fun throughout the course. ("Okay, go ahead [you step off] - Wait!") You're never not attached to some safety line. They know the daring or a bit unsure ones who want to spin a bit or have the line or the bridge bounced, and they know the truly scared ones, who they gently lead ("Okay, look at my eyes. Now step... hold here... look at me..."). The sights from the various platforms are beautiful -- the ocean in the distance on one side, mountains on the other, beautiful flowered trees around, a house in the distance. We had perfect weather, but I think they'll do the course in rain -- just not with thunder/lightening or winds over 35 mph. There are 2-3 bar ladders you have to climb and 2 plank/rope bridges you have to cross. There's no stopping or going back. At the end, they take a vote of which final ride the entire group wants -- another zip line or a fairly scary spring loaded / bungee type of rope (about 25' high?) where you jump/lean backwards and fall about ten feet before the rope cushions your standing drop to the ground, where a guy keeps you from stumbling. There's an optional photo package that's $10/person, minimum 3 people (they're assuming everybody's in a group of some kind). If you buy it, you get a CD. They take a picture of your personal group at the end of the course. Ask to have the guys pose in your picture. They're hysterical. Excellent photos -- great depth of field, clear, varying closeness to each individual. I think they guarantee a minimum of 8 photos per individual. We bought the photo package, something we normally skip. Gratuity is optional and can be charged on a credit card. We gave $20 for 2 of us. They have a small store in their office with tee-shirts and dry T's (which we bought) some rain wear. Nice, dark solid colors. Typical prices. Forget thinking you can sneak a phone along to take your own pictures. You're required to wear leather gloves, which they point out have to be removed to operate a camera, which is strictly prohibited. The gloves are only needed to prevent rope or zip line severe burns or pinches for people that grab the line over them for some reason in spite of strict instructions not to. You can wear a hat under the required helmet. You can leave your car keys hanging in their office. They tell you that anything in your pockets will fall out and basically be lost. But you won't be upside down except by choice, so it's likely, though not certain, that you won't lose what's in your pockets. Glasses/sunglasses are not a problem. The course is mostly shaded. It's a circuit, not a long line of continuous zip lines. The longest ride on a single line is probably 20 seconds (max). You can spin, bounce, even hang upside down. You can hang on to a strap in front of your chest, but they point out that there's no need. You never feel like you're waiting. The 3 guys keep everybody talking and laughing. I highly recommend this adventure. In our 2 weeks on Maui, we have also have done the Road to Hana tour, Pacific Whale Watch, Alii Nui catamaran snorkeling, paddle boarding, and a luau.

We had a great time at North Shore zip-line company. We went with our family and friends that joined us. It was my five year olds birthday and his first time zip-lining here and he was not scared at all he loved it. The Staff there is super friendly and super funny they made our zip-lining more fun. Don't hesitate to book with them you won't regret it.

Just come back from zipling with Northshore Zipline Co. I did something similar as a kid which was very off putting, but this afternoon these guys converted me! I was scared to start with but gradually got braver with each zipline. There was one moment where I had to pause before stepping off the platform and the guide with me was patient, kind and gave me a little time and space to collect myself. I did have to insist that he push me off the platform, which he did happily! There was a real emphasis on safety throughout the entire tour, but it was delivered with good humour and Aloha spirit!
