Group of 10 of us ages 5 to 65 enjoyed a magical , sunset Balloon ride into the Sonora Desert two days ago . Having children in our group was concerning ,but pilot Don was excellent in allaying all fears as he raised , lowered and landed our balloon very calmly and gracefully . Our winds were very light so we didn’t travel far but it didn’t stop group’s enthusiasm of taking in the whole experience . The field crew Chris and Derek along with Pilot Don answered all our questions , used some humour and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the whole experience . Watching them all work in such an organized , efficient , professional manner to unroll, inflate , gather us into the ballon , take our pics , rise us so gracefully about 5000 feet high for a 50 minute ride and then land us ever so gently was remarkable . As the ground crew gathered everything back up again , pilot Don was busy setting up tables and delicious treats for us . Our family then enjoyed the beautiful sunset as we snacked and toasted with champagne and also enjoyed a surprise Birthday cake from the company for one of our group members. Pilot Don then led us through the traditional balloonist’s ceremony and our grandchildren were delighted to take home their certificates as a souvenir. This was a perfect “Christmas gift in March “ for our family who were visiting the Scottsdale area this week . I truly recommend this company - right from the office staff who organized our reservation in such a friendly manner to the ground crew who worked so vigorously and our pilot who ensured we experienced such a safe and memorable ride . It was truly a great experience .

This is an awesome thing to do. I did the sunset ride with Jonathan. He was an excellent pilot (I guess that's what he's called). The weather was beautiful and our basket had an interesting group of people on board. Jonathan knew everything about ballooning and knew a lot about the area we were in. There were 9 or 10 balloons that lifted off within minutes of each other. It was absolutely beautiful and the visibility was near 100 miles...we could see the mountains in Flagstaff! This ride included a mini meal at the end with champagne. Tables set up in the desert as we watched the sunset over the mountains! I can't wait to get back into Phoenix and bring family the next time!
