Guests must provide a car seat for small children or babies on Farmlands Tour. ALL children must have a ticket. Parents may not hold or share a seat with children or babies.
Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.
No pets allowed.

The Amish Experience

The Amish Experience at Plain & Fancy Farm SuperSaver package includes three activities. At this time we ask that you wear a mask to participate in these activities. Amish Farmlands Tour: 90 minute guided Amish farmlands tour using our air-conditioned 14 passenger mini bus. A stop along the way for authentic Amish goods is included. Amish Experience Theater: 35 minute, five-screen, special-effect film called "Jacob's Choice." Follow a young Amish man as he decides whether or not to be Amish, and experience history through flash-backs in the film. Amish House and One-Room School: The Amish Country Homestead is a 45 minute guided walking tour of a replica Amish house and school on site at the Amish Experience.

We did the movie and farmhouse/school. The movie was very good, a long with the effects. The tour of the farmhouse and school was very informative, and our guide was very good. Gave us a lot of information and answered all of our questions.

View of country side was good. Tour guide informative with a good sense of humor. Theater presentation was well done. Great opportunity to learn about Amish history and culture.

This was like a crash course in all things Amish - the movie, which gives insight into some of the things that Amish people consider when deciding whether to live their whole lives in the Amish way; the tour around Amish farmland, with the opportunity to see farmers at work, learn about their school houses and education systems, buggies, etc.; and the replica of a school house and home, complete with school books, typical furnishings, and clothing. If you have one day in Lancaster County, I highly recommend this package! And if you've got a few days, this is a great introduction, as it provides a framework for what you'll see and encounter.
