We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with local native Dan. We got such a unique and personal tour. The food stops were delicious and we had such a great time. I would definitely recommend!

This was an amazing tour! Dan (tour guide) is a life-long Alaskan with deep knowledge of food, food industry, and history of Alaska. I’ve lived in Alaska for over two decades and learned the little-mentioned history behind things like the domestication of caribou in Alaska and early Anchorage history. The tour is a perfect balance of walking and sitting at each restaurant/cafe, and the food provided is delicious and portions are appropriate; not too little and not too heavy/too much for walking and the time spent at each stop. Dan is down-to-earth and personable I'm so excited he’s offering the only food tours in Anchorage. There are several really good fairly new restaurants here and a couple of them are stops on his tour. If you’re interested in food and Alaska history, you’ll enjoy this tour!

This was such a fun tour! Dan the owner is absolutely full of fascinating stories about both the state of Alaska & Anchorage itself. He has a great sense of humor. Not knowing where we would be stopping to eat & drink was part of the fun. Each location stands out in its own way & offers delicious treats. We got to meet the owner of the last stop & he was full of stories. I've lived in Anchorage quite a long time & had never heard most of the tales Dan told us. I ended up taking a few notes & doing some googling at home just to learn more about some of the characters he mentioned. Included are a wonderful combination of food, desserts, & drinks at the various stops. The presentation of each meal / snack is very attractive. As to duration & physical limitations, I have chronic back pain but remained mostly comfortable because there is a pleasant combination of sitting, standing, & walking. I'd estimate the walking distance is about a mile in the city center broken up by being able to sit while eating & drinking. Definitely don't eat a meal before this tour! I was comfortably full afterwards. If you have any dietary restrictions it would probably be helpful for their planning to let them know ahead of time. I'd highly encourage either visitors or locals to take this tour with Alaska Footprints!
