Join us on a fun-filled and informative electric bike tour of Asheville! Approximately 3-hours long, this e-bike tour is the perfect way to experience the city’s charm and learn about its fascinating history. You’ll see Asheville’s noteworthy architectural gems, take in the stunning scenery from carefully chosen viewpoints, and hear the stories behind Asheville’s best historical sites.

The electric pedal assist and throttles on our e-bikes allow you to easily ride up Asheville’s steep hills! Your expert guide will lead you safely through city streets, bike greenways, and quiet, picturesque neighborhood roads. There is no better way to experience how Asheville has changed in recent years, what makes it so special today, and what’s in store for the years ahead than joining the Flying Bike on our award-winning Downtown Asheville E-bike Tour.

  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
  • Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
  • Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
  • Pets are not allowed on tours, please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Went on the electric bike tour with Torin, the owner of the company. He is an extremely conscientious guide, who goes the extra distance to make sure that everyone is safe. On top of that, he has put a lot of thought into the places that he chooses to stop, and shares a story that relates to each landmark. Torin was a wealth of information on the history of Asheville, and went out of his way to make the tour both educational and meaningful. Highly recommend this tour!

No question: my ebike tour of Asheville was terrific! I joined my wife who has already done the tour and could not wait to do it again. Torin did an amazing job from the start. He set us up on bikes, assured that we had a good fit, tutored us on how to safely and confidently handle the ebike, and explained hand signals that we should recognize. The tour was flawless: fun, enlightening, and informative. I was so thrilled to see Asheville from the unique perspective that Torin's expertise offered to us. This tour is a must do! I so enjoyed my first tour with Torin Kexel,( co-owner and lead guide of The Flying Bike - Electric Bike Tours) six months ago that I wanted my husband to have the same experience on our recent visit to Asheville. Once again, Torin did not disappoint! The equipment was in excellent condition, the operating instructions were clear, and we had practice time on the bikes before we took to the streets. The tour hit many highpoints of Asheville, including the St. Lawrence Basilica, Grove Park Inn, The Greenways, the Montford District, and downtown. Torin is a font of information on the wonderful architecture and rich history of Asheville. He also has many recommendations for food and activities. His love for Asheville and joy of riding make this a truly rich experience. This is a great way to see Asheville and get a feel for its charm while enjoying the fresh mountain air! A must-do for any visit to Asheville!
