This was our first time to Chicago and I read the reviews of the Big Bus Tour and we decided to get a taste of the city this way. It has a total of 14 stops and it passes all the major attractions (or at least nearby) and we were able to pass near the Sears Tower (Chicagoans still call it that!), Millenial Park, Navy Pier and Soldier Field.I enjoyed that you have a different driver all the time (sort of like the Disney Jungle Cruise, each driver with their own routine).I love this as a way to get around, clean buses and always buses around. Only down side is in the summer when it's hot you will Roast on the open air seating. If you have the chance to do it, go for it!

Thanks to hop on hop off, we had three different guides. The second one was really excellent, focusing on Chicago architecture and history. The other two were not so good. We are lifetime Chicagoans and know some of the interesting things about the city. The first guide spent too much time telling us about which Chicago pizza or hot dog she liked and not enough time telling us about Chicago. For instance, the bus sat next to the new flagship McDonald's for about five minutes, and the guide never even mentioned it, let along explained what it replaced and how it represented the future. The third guy told us he was a budding actor and comedian. We got too much of his practicing his not so good act and not nearly enough about Chicago.

We did this tour. it was very insightful and interesting. The guides gave very detailed history about Chicago. Great way to learn about the city. You could hop off and look around to enjoy things and then hop back on to continue to another stop. Highly recommend it to everyone.
