Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

Highly recommended. We had Lara as our guide and she was just amazing. She's a local historian and had such genuine enthusiasm when talking about Salem's history. She was so detailed about the different stories, both historical and spooky, that you couldn't help but picture Salem's past. Also, Lara made a Dr. Who reference, so she's my new favorite person. If you decide to do a day or night tour, Black Cat really is the best and worth every penny.

My daughter and I did the Ghost Tour a few nights ago and it was fantastic! We were lucky enough to have Lara as a guide and I was very impressed with her extensive knowledge and dedication to historical accuracy. My family does a lot of traveling and we have been on our fair share of tours. This one was definitely one of the best. We're always concerned with making sure we get an accurate account and not just the "accepted" stories and Black Cat certainly delivered. We recommend them wholeheartedly and look forward to coming back and doing one of the history walking tours with them. Hopefully, we'll have Lara again.

We were hoping to have Dan as our guide and definitely lucked out! He was GREAT! Super informative, interesting, interactive, and knowledgeable. He is 100% up to date on Salem’s history and you can tell he loves this town. Our family of 4 brought our two 17 year old boys who thought this tour was THE BEST! Thank You Dan and Black Cat Tours!
