While riding through Central Park was marketed as an enjoyable 'must do' activity while in New York, like other reviewers before me my 13 year old daughter and I agreed that walking in the heat would have been preferable. We hired bikes on a Sunday morning at 9am and while there was lots of bikes and people traffic on the one way route around the park this wasn't our biggest issue. It was the quality of the bikes that we hired from this company that let us down! Rather than rent a Citibike I choose an established company because I was hoping for some customer service. When I arrived we were handed two bikes and a map and prompted to leave. I had to step in and request that the seat heights were adjusted to fit. This was begrudgingly done. I expected some simple instructions on how to get to Central Park or suggested places to stop on the cycle route - not a tour, but straightforward customer service. The brakes on one bike squeaked, while the gears on the second bike did not move easily and clunked. I passed on this feedback on our return and suggested that they service the bikes but I really don't think they cared at all. Please note that despite statements claiming it takes 30-45mins for a leisurely ride, it took us 1.5 hours with only the occasional water break. You would be better off finding another bike shop or staying on your feet as at least then you would get time to see the highlights of the park rather than just a bike path/road.

Went for a bike ride with my family and two of the bikes were broken. Took the bikes back to get a refund and the manager refused a refund, absolutely appalling! Would never return here, I would rather walk in the boiling heat or the blistering rain! Stay Far Far Far away from here.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Dionne Mary looked after us as we got the bikes and afterwards. Friendly, efficient and courteous. Used electric bikes for only $6 more per hour . Found everything we wanted to see with the map provided.
