This was my third time in New York and this was this was my third time in New York and since I had visited most of the well-known tourist attractions, I decided to explore some of the lesser known areas such as Little Italy and Chinatown. Coming from a family of foodies, I figured a food tour would be the perfect way to learn about the culinary and historic backgrounds of these beautiful regeons. We decided to go on the little Italy and Chinatown food fest, and I can honestly say it was the best food tour I have ever been on. The food itself was incredible. We stopped off at a number of restaurants and shops, all of which showcased the local Italian and Chinese cuisine at its finest. From Little Italy, my favourite sample would have to be the gnocchi in a delicious Marinara sauce, and then from Chinatown my favourite would have to be the dim sum which was just to die for. But in my opinion, the thing that made this tour so exceptional was our fabulous tour guide Liz. She was gorgeous inside and out, making everyone of us feel truly welcome and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, she was super friendly, charismatic and full of fun, instantly putting a smile on our faces. As a native New Yorker her extensive knowledge of both areas made The tour even more enjoyable and her amazing culinary recommendations gave us lots of options of places to eat in New York. She was just so helpful and knowledgeable and such a lovely lady, definitely the best tour guide I have ever had and that's saying something as I have been on many walking tours. To anyone who is interested in food and history, this tour is perfect for you and if you are lucky enough to get Liz as your guide, you are in for an absolute treat! Thank you so much Liz for an amazing tour, it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip that we will never forget! X

WOW, what a great review. We are so humbled to read this review. Liz loves her job and it truly shows. So happy that you enjoyed the food and found that it reflected the neighborhoods quite well. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a Little Italy and Chinatown Food Tour organised by Ahoy New York Food Tours. It was well organised, included interesting historical sites to visit and as a food tour didn't leaving us wanting for samples (don't eat beforehand!). All this was outlined in our tour book that introduced us to what we had in store before we started off (and is a great souvenir). Our tour guide (Lizzie) was fantastic - we all felt like old friends by the end of the tour with everyone make to feel included. She hosted us with a high level of knowledge and a great sense of humour.

While Alana was really, knowledgeable and great, during the 3 hour tour, we only sat down once. Also, I didn't love standing on the side of building tasting out of a paper plate which was for 3/4 of the the stops!!** Ive been to a few food tours in different cities, and I just think that the restaurants should want to cooperate more with the company by bringing in the guests and treating them special. As it was, Lisa would get "take out", then divy it up between us,out of a paper bag, half for you half for your friend, and there were no drinks, unless you stopped and bought a water. to be honest the pizza restaurant was the only one that let us sit and we got a glass of water. The pizza was not memorable for little italy. I left hungry. Im sorry...best wishes to you Alana!

Hello and thank you for your review and feedback. As we are a boutique food tour company all feedback is valued as our main goal is to ensure that our guests enjoy our tours. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your tour guide. We kindly would like to remind you that there was indeed seating at the very beginning of the tour for a minimum of 20 minutes, which included a glass of water and dessert as you learned about Little Italy. Furthermore, all Little Italy tastings were done inside mom and mom shops. While we try to sit when we can, we do like to have the neighborhoods showcased and the best way to do that in a 3 hour window is be sure to spend ample time outdoors-- it is a common practice with NYC food tours that a good amount of tastings are done "on the go" so that this goal can be achieved. We are sorry that you were still hungry-- we will take note of this.
