This 7-hour tour begins with a trip to Waterbury and Stowe, where we will visit a number of popular local attractions. Treat your taste buds at the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory and Cold Hollow Cider Mill, then visit the historic Trapp Family Lodge — the same Von Trapp family that inspired The Sound of Music. Our Vermont tours visit only the most interesting locations, such as a scenic drive to the top of Smugglers’ Notch State Park. You will also have a chance to explore Stowe village.

The Von Trapp Family (from “The Sound of Music” fame) chose this location as their home because its scenery is reminiscent their native Austria. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a welcome sign that reads “The Trapp Family invites you to share a little of Austria, a lot of Vermont.”

Finally, our last visit of the day will be in downtown Stowe. With a population of just over 4,300 people, this village is home to many events throughout the Summer, including a hot air balloon festival and many different arts and crafts shows. Here you will find many local artisan shops featuring art, jewelry, clothing, gifts, and number of award-winning specialty foods. There is even a Ski and Snowboard Museum, of interest to those who enjoy downhill Winter sports.

We did the Waterbury-Stowe day tour and the Woodstock-Quechee day tour and really enjoyed both of them. We liked the mix of getting to experience both the more popular tourist spots and some less touristy areas as well. Natalia is very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about Vermont, and has a great sense of humor. She also recommended some activities for us to do in Burlington (where we stayed) during the days we were not on a tour, which was great.

Natalia was knowledgeable about Vermont and very accommodating to our requests. We enjoyed seeing all that Vermont has to offer! We also did her Montpelier tour and enjoyed it as well. I would highly recommend her as your guide.

We took the Stowe tour last month and it was an enjoyable experience! Natalia is very knowledgeable about Vermont and quite personable. We got so much more out of time in Vermont because of her efforts and good advice and would definitely take one of her other tours if we return to Vermont
