Your Deluxe Manatee Swim Tour provides a unique opportunity to view Florida's Nature Coast. CRWS is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program - promoting passive observation and responsible eco tourism. Your tour will take you past a state Archaeological Park, a State Nature Preserve and to a National Wildlife Refuge. You may view up to 57 varieties of birds, river otters, deer, pigs dolphins, a variety of fish and turtles besides the opportunity to swim in the area of the gentle giants manatees.

I went along with my husband, sister, & her boyfriend on Friday February 2nd, it was chilly, but wetsuits made it so that we weren't cold in the water. I wasn't sure about snorkeling while pregnant, but I had nothing to worry about. The snorkeling is pretty relaxing, no current to worry about & the manatees honestly come right up to you. We picked a great time of year to come as there were many manatees around, we literally saw one as soon as we got in the water & then couldn't get back on our boat at the end because there was one right in front of the ladder! Everyone in our group absolutely loved the experience and our captain (Rob) and dive guide (Hailey) were both very knowledgable and made our experience special. I hope to be able to do this again someday with our daughter!

The cold weather makes it a bit more daunting when planning the trip, but with 72'F (22'C) water, and the reward of swimming with our gentle giants, it makes it worthwhile. Manatees, manatees and more manatees! My husband and I headed to Crystal River Watersports so we could swim with the manatees. We had our booking for Sat and were advised by Alyssa the earlier in the day the possibility for more manatees. Jim was the captain, and Yvette was our guide. We enjoyed it so much that we booked again for the next day before heading home with John. Yvette was again our guide, and Vince was the captain. Everyone at Crystal River Watersports went above and beyond our expectations!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review Janie! We are so happy that you choose Crystal River Watersports for your manatee tour (twice! Thank you again). You came at the perfect time for a tour- as the cold winter days mean the maximum number of manatees. Our early morning tours are the best bet to see the maximum number of manatees, and for them to be at their most active. We know that sometimes it is hard to get out of a warm bed to be on a boat at 7:30 am, but it does have benefits- like seeing a beautiful sunrise while on the boat, and then lots, and lots of manatees. We will be sure to let Yvette, Jim and Vince know how much you enjoyed your trip, and let Alyssa know that you appreciated her advice. My daughter & I went Monday Jan 15, 2018, it was a cold day, but we put on our wet suits and had a fabulous time...The Capt Jim's guided us out to the springs giving us the history of the area & pointing out the wild life...Dakota was our swim guide, he was great, he helped me in the water & we saw so many gentle huge manatee...They played with us, & swan under us & around us..Dakota was so good with us in the water...When we got back to the boat Capt Jim had hot choco waiting for us...It was the best day, I'm so glad that we got to go on this adventure...I would recommend it to everyone who wants to see the Manatee up close..

Margaret, thank you so much for your review of Crystal River Watersports. So are so happy that you had a great time. Jim and Dakota love their jobs, and really enjoyed spending the morning with you and your daughter. They work hard to be knowledgeable about the area, animals and birds, and the manatees- so it is a pleasure knowing that sharing that with you made the trip more enjoyable. Your behavior in the water (staying calm, floating, and letting the manatees choose what to do) was the most important factor in getting the great experience. Since you were quiet, the manatees felt comfortable coming up to you, swimming around (and under!) you. It also helps the manatees, because when visitors to our area show respect and proper "manatee manners" it sets a great example to everyone out on the water. Thank you so much for visiting us, and for the wonderful review, we really appreciate it.
