We worked with David Walworth, an MIT educated Naval Architect and Principal Engineer known for his high-efficiency catamaran designs, to build the perfect boat for our trips from scratch.

Our amazing crew are closely trained by our Honest Eco Biologists. Crew training starts on land with research and mission alignment before moving onto the water where we hone our seamanship skills and work to become as effective as possible at delivering on our Purpose.

We booked two different excursions with snorkeling included and we almost didn't go because our first excursion was pretty disappointing. However this trip with Honest Eco completely changed our minds. Wade, our captain, and Brian, the marine biologist were friendly, funny, knowledgeable and basically everything you'd want out of a crew. The dolphin watching was superb and we found them right away. The snorkeling spot was far superior and it was so cool to have a marine biologist along to point things out. Fresh fruit and veggies with amazing hummus was great too. You can also feel good about supporting a small business that is all about conservation and education. Although they don't provide alcohol it wasn't missed and if you want to bring your own that's cool. There were only 6 of us and it is so worth the mo ey to have fewer people. Other boats we saw on the water were so crowded. Couldn't recommend strongly enough!

Wow, I’m so glad we could turn your snorkeling experience around! It’s tough when an excursion doesn’t live up to expectations, but I love that our boat tour with Wade and Bryan gave you the experience you were looking for. Finding dolphins right away? Always a great start! And having a Bryan along for snorkeling really makes all the difference he’s a walking encyclopedia when it comes to sea life. Plus, fresh fruit, veggies, and that hummus? Definitely the best post-snorkel snack! Totally agree small group trips are the way to go. It’s a much more relaxed and personal experience, and I can’t imagine trying to enjoy the water on one of those packed boats. Which is why we make it our priority to take small number of people in our trips. Really appreciate the kind words and the support for our mission of conservation and education.

We were lucky to see dolphins early in our tour and again up close before the end of the trip. Captain Wade and first mate Brian were very friendly and knowledgeable. This was our second snorkeling excursion of our trip. The first was with Danger charters. The trip with danger charters was a fun experience, but the snorkeling experience was much better with Honest Eco Tours. Maybe it was having a marine biologist on board (Brian) but we went to a location where we had more visibility and saw a great deal more than we did with Danger Charters. Had we skipped the Honest Eco Tours trip, we would have left Key West thinking the snorkeling here was a scam. I wholeheartedly recommend both companies, but if you must choose between the two companies, Honest Eco Tours should get your business. (But bring your own booze for the honest eco tours trip, as they don’t supply alcohol).

Hey Timothy, I’m so glad you gave snorkeling another shot with us! It’s great to hear that our boat tour completely changed your perspective on Key West snorkeling. Having a marine biologist like Bryan on board definitely makes a difference he’s got an incredible eye for spotting wildlife and Wade knows exactly where to go for the best visibility. And yep, we keep it booze-free to keep the focus on the wildlife, but bringing your own is totally cool we also have coolers on board with ice! Thanks for the wholehearted recommendation, and I’d love to have you back next time you’re in Key West!
