Wherever you are in the Zulu Kingdom you are no more than 3 hours from Africa’s iconic Big 5. Today, however, you shall be a whole lot closer. It is a 05h00 start. As you know wildlife, especially predators, are most active around dawn and dusk.

The Big 5 Bucketlist Safari gives you the best chance to see the Big 5 on a day tour within KwaZulu Natal. Enter into a Premier Private Game Reserve and meet your knowledgeable ranger. Listen to a briefing on game drive etiquette before you start your 3 hour morning safari.

Your ranger will track wildlife while keeping tabs on sightings throughout the reserve giving you the best chance to be in the right place at the right time. This reserve only permits travellers staying at their luxury lodges to traverse the park, unless you’re with us of course.

Time for lunch. After lunch we’re heading deeper into the reserve. Embark on another 3 hour game drive focusing on different game. At approximately 16h00 we will depart for Durban.

One of the best tours o have been on. Definitely recommend while in South Africa. Our guide was fantastic and we saw everything we wanted to! Fantastic experience!!!

Amazing day started with the incredible Thabo Mokgape who met us at the hotel and drove the several hours to the reserve. We had great conversations about the flora and fauna, history, politics, life in general and some good laughs. Our guide then took over as we spent the morning an early afternoon driving around the reserve. Sadly I forgot his name, but he was a gentleman and so knowledgeable about the animals and plants. We learned so much. Favourite plants were the yellow fever tree and queen fig tree. Saw lots of animals up close including giraffes, water buffalo, wildebeests, rhino, impala, kudu, ostrich, warthogs, zebra, vultures, birds- to name a few. Also amazing butterflies. Unfortunately for us, the elephants were in an inaccessible part of the reserve and the lion’s & leopards were hiding. But we saw LOADS more animals and loved the entire time in the reserve. Beyond the animals the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. I fell in love with South Africa. And then, the wonderful Thabo drove us home- and again the good conversations continued. Would love to continue those conversations someday…amazing human being. Just an awesome bucket list kind of day.

Had a great experience, driver and tour guide. Saw allot more animals than expected and had the best time ever, would totally recommend!! Totally worth the money.
