Six of us spent a wonderful afternoon on the river and saw dozens of eagles. Our guide was Sam and he was awesome, great personality and knowledge of the rivers. Becky was our driver and was very pleasant and informative. We were all novices when it came to rafting but we felt safe and comfortable. This is a much better choice for a personal experience than the bigger companies that we saw around town. Highly recommend for a unique experience.

Enjoyable trip down the river. We were able to see quite a few adult and juvenile bald eagles. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable about the area and had some great stories from his life experiences.

Your guide does all the work! Just follow his or her safety instructions and sit back and enjoy. This was a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. We started at the Haines Rafting company shop and then were driven to our launch location by Becky and Sam. Sam was our guide and adept raft rower. Becky dropped us off and met us later. Sam gave us life jackets and a safety briefing and then we hopped on board. There were only 3 of us plus Sam in the tour group, which made it very comfortable. The tour lasted about 4 hours. Sam was extremely knowledgeable and great company. He made it look easy as he navigated the river to find the best path and shared his experiences and knowledge of the flora, fauna and local history. Relax, soak up the beautiful scenery and take your happy snaps. Also recommend taking your binoculars for better views of bald eagles and other birds, or animals that you might glimpse on shore. At the end of the tour we met Becky by the riverside who'd set up hot drinks and yummy snacks. The perfect way to end a delightful afternoon before we were driven back to the rafting company shop.
