It shares the city's origin story and tells what it was like to live there during WWII with U-boat threats off the coast and the arrival of German POWs. It makes stops at Myrtle Beach's first golf course, Pine Lakes International Country Club, and the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum. Guests gather in front of the Grand 14 Theater at The Market Common to begin boarding at 9:45 AM. The trolley is enclosed and climate-controlled. Both tours were created to compliment each other in order to give guests a more comprehensive look at Myrtle Beach's past. GUESTS MUST BE AT LEAST 3 YEARS OLD FOR THIS TOUR. For those who are interested in history you will find an incredible researcher and tour leader in Kathryn Hedgepath. Kathryn doesn't merely lead the tour she captures the spirit of the times in her narration. She has personally researched the details of the trip distinguishing beliefs from facts. The stops are diverse and the untold history of Myrtle Beach is fascinating - with the stop at the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum a must in these times of heated political debate. A tour that both informs and makes you think about who is ally and who is enemy.

We liked visiting some historical sites; the Colored School narrator was so passionate about the school, the people who influenced him and all of the kids who attended. I also remember sitting in desks like that when I attended a one-room school house in PA. Good visit! The info about WWII prisoners of war, their impact on local economy and their realization about USA was a great history lesson! The guide knew her stuff and we liked that.
