From Grand Central's hidden stories to the Chrysler Building's Art Deco magnificence, Kevin unveiled layers of meaning behind each structure. His explanations of practical elements—like wooden water tanks atop buildings—and how zoning laws shaped New York's distinctive skyline were fascinating. Kevin expertly connected French architectural influences to the city's development and even explained Manhattanhenge's relationship to Manhattan's street grid. The tour culminated perfectly at the Empire State Building, where we viewed the landmarks we'd discussed from 1,400 feet above.
