A kayak safari with our very comfortable and stable kayaks is an excellent way to see the Everglades up close with a guide leading the way. Our Biologist Trained Guides/ Florida Naturalists are the top in their field and truly have a genuine passion for conservation and showing our guests this amazing area. These mangrove tunnels are truly special and different then those in nearby Marco and Naples; holding more wildlife and biodiversity. Once you get back from the trip there are some great nearby places to get lunch and other activities that our guide will point out. A percentage of every tour goes towards the conservation of these amazing areas! Paddling with us is like paddling with friends who truly care.

The morning of our scheduled tour, I got a call from Jeff, the owner. The weather forecast was changing and strong storms were predicted for that afternoon. Jeff worked with us to reschedule our trip to a time that worked for us.👍 Our guide was Doug. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. 😃 The pace of the trip allowed us to absorb our environment with Doug adding informative facts. If we wanted to stop for photos or explore something more, that’s what we did. There were several other tours on the same river, but ours was the smallest and felt more intimate as we were never far from Doug and could hear all he was saying. The setting on the Turner River is just plain “fun”. This is far and away the best thing to do in Big Cyprus/ Everglades NP. Doug and Doug explaining the flora.

As novice kayakers, we were hesitant to undertake this adventure but our guide, Doug, was the best. He offered good advice on how to paddle through the more narrow parts of the tunnel. He is extremely knowledgeable about the environment and wildlife. This is a small, family owned business who gives you individual attention. I highly recommend this company for your kayak adventure.

My husband and I did the Everglades Mangrove Tour last week. It was a highlight of our vacation! We ended up getting a private tour with our guide Doug. He was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, and easy going. We saw a lot of wildlife: birds, fish, turtles, and alligators. Even saw some baby alligators. We loved how peaceful the tour was and were glad we opted to see the Mangroves in a kayak! We didn’t have our kids with us, but I know they would’ve loved it too! Ally at Shurr was so helpful and even provided us with restaurant and activity recommendations for the area. I would highly recommend Shurr Adventures!
