I've been an outdoor adventure guide in Big Bear for the last five years. I've been exploring all the best hiking trails in the Big Bear Valley for the last 20 years. It's hard to find an easy hike in Big Bear; A lot of trails are steep and hard for little kids. This trail is actually stroller-friendly also, which you can not say about a lot of hiking trails in the mountain communities.
I love the peace and solitude of this trail in the woods. It's hiked mostly by locals who live in this neighborhood and is not a tourist spot. I personally love to share the local history around the Big Bear Valley. I really enjoy pointing out different flora and fauna to my younger guests and teaching them how interesting nature can be like the wild native insects we might see on the trails

The hike with my guide, Amber, was so much fun. It was absolutely beautiful. I’m not in the best shape but this was completely doable for me. She took some photos of me in the gorgeous scenery to have for memories. Amber was friendly, warm and knowledgeable about the area. I learned so much! I am on a solo vacation but would definitely bring family or friends on her guided hike in the future. I highly recommend doing this!!! You won’t regret it.

Amber is wonderful. After booking, she kept us up to date as with options for our hike. We had our kids and their children (ages 4,2, 4 months). Amber expertly guided my wife and I on a 2 hour private hiking tour to scenic spots above the lake. We hiked at a nice easy pace as Amber filled us in on the plants and history of the region. She knew exactly where to go for the best photos of the lake. Wonderful experience!
