My husband and I did the Moonshine and Wine tour during our trip to Gatlinburg last weekend.
I did plenty of research before, and did notice all the stops included free tastings anyway, so I was debating back and forth between paying for the tour or just just hitting all the stops on our own over the course of the weekend.
It didn’t take us long to both agree that paying for the tour was worth every penny and would absolutely recommend it to anyone else on the fence!!
Our driver, Pam, was exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and of each location. We learned so much from her on the drive between stops, and she recommended some of her favorites from each location prior to each arrival. We never felt rushed, and we were given plenty of time at each place. The snacks and water on the bus were a nice touch.
Our group was small (there were a total of 7 of us on the bus) and it didn’t take long for everyone to feel like close friends.
We all had such a great day and Pam contributed greatly to the overall experience!!
Also worth noting - prior to leaving, there were one or two couples who were on the list and didn’t show up. Pam called them to see if they were on their way, or if they would need to reschedule. I live in a fast-paced area where if you don’t show, the tour (or event or whatever) goes on without you. I thought this was a really kind gesture and if I was on the other end, would have really appreciated it.
**also completely unrelated to the tour, but if you are staying in a cabin and plan on getting a cab - plan in advance!!!! My husband and I both unsuccessfully tried for a solid hour to get an Uber or Lyft. We gave up and called a cab, who said they were in the area and would be right over. The cab took over 45 minutes, so we learned in the future to schedule a lot earlier so we wouldn’t be panicking last minute
