This French Quarter walking tour is conducted by city licensed guides and emphasize the history, architecture, and folklore of this fascinating city. Tour and store proceeds benefit Friends of the Cabildo, a non-profit volunteer group to provide support for the Louisiana State Museum. Purchasing a walking tour ticket also gets you admission to the 1850 House Museum, above the store, that shows what life was like in a typical Pontalba Apartment in the 1850s. Restroom is provided for walking tour guests as well.

Tours go out rain or shine.

Our walking tour of the French Quarter with affable volunteer Don N. may be the best tour I have ever taken. Of anything. Ever! Don was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, patient, and good-humored. Everything he told us was engaging and fascinating. Yes, all those ghost, voodoo, and other haunted types of tours are popular in NOLA and may be entertaining, but this offered a wealth of actual, useful information! The tour went well over the allotted two hours, but our entire group eagerly followed Don into the cathedral afterwards. We could barely bear to bid him goodbye and weren’t ready to see it end!

I took this tour with Roger back in June and I wish I had written a review earlier! The experience was amazing: my group was small, allowing everyone to listen and ask questions at any moment. Our guide was really prepared and enthusiastic and managed to engage us throughout the whole walk. He didn't get discouraged when it started raining really hard; in fact, he tried to keep the group as dry as possible while delivering all the info in the most professional way. Highly recommended!
