This French Quarter walking tour is conducted by city licensed guides and emphasize the history, architecture, and folklore of this fascinating city. Tour and store proceeds benefit Friends of the Cabildo, a non-profit volunteer group to provide support for the Louisiana State Museum. Purchasing a walking tour ticket also gets you admission to the 1850 House Museum, above the store, that shows what life was like in a typical Pontalba Apartment in the 1850s. Restroom is provided for walking tour guests as well.

Tours go out rain or shine.

Our tour guide Kathy was an amazing story teller. She definitely kept us entertained with her knowledge of the area. You can tell she has a passion for what she does and we walked away with a little more appreciation for the French Quarter and Jackson Square

We were in New Orleans for a few days and were having difficulty finding a really good quality historic walking tour. The concierge at our hotel recommended The Friends of the Cabildo tours. He was spot on with this recommendation. Our tour was wonderful. Our guide was Leonor. This is the tour to take.

My wife and I pre-booked this walking tour, having researched thouse on offer from England ahead of our 24 day road trip of the Deep South. We arrived at the 1850 House spot on time and enjoyed a quick toilet break before setting off on a sunny Monday morning at 10:30am. Gayle was out tour guide and she was very knowledgeable. She took us around various parts of the French Quarter (predominantly) to see many architectural styles and important buildings and monuments of various times. The tour was soon over and I certainly felt that I would have been happy to continue for another hour or more. Thank you Gayle for a very informative tour!
