We started planning this trip pre-pandemic and were so happy this day finally came. JJ and Matt took out our family of 5 our on an adventure on the Kenai River. They were so accommodating and helpful teaching my 13yo twin girls and 11yo son how to use a fly rod as well as plugs to fish for salmon. As this was the beginning of the sockeye run, we had a challenging time catching them, but did hook a number of beautiful rainbow trout (some of the largest i've seen) and dolly varden; we did get a few sockeye to take home. Despite this, we saw over 20 bald eagles and got to paddle down class 2-3 rapids. The two of them really know every inch of the river. This was truly an amazing day. We will be back to fish with JJ and Matt the next time we're in Alaska!

This was are third trip with kenia river trout anglers JJ always does a great job getting you on fish he knows every inch of the river and always has the boat positioned where it needs to be to fish a spot,He has a wonderful personality and is very informative about the area,This was the first time we fished with 4 people in the boat(we wanted to take are good friends with)and i was a little nervous about that many in the boat but he had it set up with 4 high back cushioned seats and it was very comfortable.I would highly recommended JJ for your Kenia river trips Kevin Snyder

Great trip! JJ is a great guy and really knows his stuff. He had us on the fish right away. Will be back to fish with him on our next trip.
