The first day ever for my family in Yosemite Valley, under a clear, sunny sky, The driver and guide picked us up - enthusiastically - at our inn and the day was off to a brilliant, positive start. Julie’s Informational details about all of the geological, hydrological, biological, zoological and sociological history of the valley made the trip all the nicer.
But the real treat was the calm and thoughtful, - but emphatic - way in which the riders were guided. We were allowed ample time to become absorbed in discovery for the more prominent and eye-catching activities such as viewing Bridal Veil Falls, El Capitan, and Half Dome, all-in-one and separately. Yosemite Falls, the Giant Seqouias of Mariposa Grove were also given priority on the docket, so that we could fully access these landmarks and return to the tour van with time to spare. Even less compelling park features were given their due, but were not accrued as much time or energy as the larger-scale attractions.
Lunch was delicious, and each party - of two to four - all were given a company-logo-adorned quilted fresh-bag for our lunches. This food was included in the reservation, and featured turkey-and-cheese hero sandwiches, apples, water, chips and cookies, all of which had been purchased through a local sandwich shop. CROSSROADS company gave everyone the bags to take home.
We enjoyed the various elements of this well-orchestrated tour, one that provides people with some background on Yosemite. Learning from an expert about how to take in and appreciate this special location, so informed the manner in which my family conducted our explorations throughout our remaining rest days in the valley.
Overall, I was pleased with the professional ease that our guide and driver, Julie, exuded through a strenuous, scheduled day.
