Easy to locate, entrance to cemetery is 43rd & Broadway. Plenty of street parking. The tour guide Bern was there when we arrived. She checked us in and started promptly at 9pm. The tour seemed safe, had no issues with security.
She used a microphone & carried a flashlight.
There is a considerable amount of walking on uneven sidewalks so wear good shoes & bring water / drink, & bug spray. We brought a flashlight too. The tour lasted about 1 hour. Good stories about tragic deaths & stories about prominent Galvestonians. Union & Confederate soldier graves, victim's graves from the 1900 storm & yellow fever deaths too. It's an old cemetery, so some of the monuments are broken & hard to read. Tour guide was knowledgeable & was a good story teller. Will try a few more tours with this company. Value was high for cost of tour. We did not see any ghost. However, someone / some thing tapped me on the shoulder & when I turned around, no one was there. My dad's family has several relatives in the old Catholic cemetery, and that's where the tap occurred. Kind of weird.
