Larry was our tour guide and it was awesome. He explained everything so good and answered every question we asked. It was a bachelorette party and he acknowledged that as well.

Larry and Madi were our guides and they were phenomenal. My fiancé and son are the ghost hunting enthusiasts so they were so excited about using the real ghost hunting equipment. My 9 yr old son is usually rather stoic in nature but the night of the tour he was bouncing and skipping around. Even I, who wasn’t neutral about a ghost hunting tour, enjoyed myself immensely. Perfect story telling by the guides. Good amount of time. Not a ton of walking involved. I would highly recommend the ghost hunting tour (and these guides especially)!

My group had about 20 people of all ages, with the youngest kids being around 8. Overall. the tour was very informative and full of great stories of the people and lore around Gatlinburg. I enjoyed the variety of stories, from murders to accidental fires, from miracles to witches. I learned a lot in that aspect, and truly enjoyed that part. What kept me from giving a 5 was our guide. While he was very personable, informative and knew his stories well, and had great photos to share on his iPad, he wasn't very engaging to the entire group. For example, when handing out the ghost hunting equipment, one young, very excited, boy, kept asking for one of the pieces; our guide told him he had something special for him. But when everything was handed out, there was nothing for the boy, who was obviously disappointed. He eventually got his hands on one of the pieces, and when he had things happening that he wanted to share, he wasn't engaged or otherwise acknowledged by the guide other than a simple word or two. As a Certified Interpretive Guide with the National Assoc. of Interpretation. I'm probably a little more sensitive to the fact you need to read your audience, be engaging, and go with the organic flow of things sometimes, rather than 'sticking to the script.' I felt our guide was a little more 'by the book' and could have been more engaging with the kids in the group. Also, a few of his jokes were a little too adult in their content (I heard some "I'll explain it to you later" a couple times...) - again, reading your audience and knowing what's appropriate and maybe not so appropriate. On a super serious plus side, we had a bear join our group, and our guide handled what could have been a bad situation perfectly and professionally, so kudos to training that goes on for those types of situations. Overall, this was a very good tour, full of ghosts, stories, history and intrigue. I would definitely recommend the tour.
