On this breathtaking Safari you'll take a 60 minute boat ride out to the Davidson Glacier filled with the potential for wildlife including whales, bald eagles, sea lions, and mountain goats! Once docked, you'll take a short hike (1/4 mile) to our canoes and then you'll make your way out to the glacier itself! Prepare yourself to take in the sheer immensity and majesty of the Davidson Glacier. You can't have any experience like this anywhere else.

On this spellbinding wilderness expedition, you will travel through fjords and rain forests viewing some of the most spectacular Alaskan scenery in Southeast. You’ll see everything from wildflowers to towering mountains and top off the experience with up-close views of the Davidson Glacier. Your adventure begins aboard one of our boats custom-designed to provide an intimate viewing experience. During your 75-minute journey through North America’s deepest fjord, keep a lookout for whales, seals, and cascading waterfalls while your Naturalist guide tells you more about the area you are traveling through. Upon arrival at the remote Glacier Point beach, you will take a short, adventurous drive across the forested glacial moraines to our base camp where you will gear up in rubber boots and a life jacket. After a ¼ mile walk, the forest opens to reveal a breathtaking view of the Davidson Glacier and pristine lake below. Here you will board a 31-foot voyager canoe for a trip around the lake to view the glacier and enjoy the incredible Alaskan wilderness while your guide shares his extensive knowledge of the area. Conditions permitting, you’ll make a stop on the delta to get up close and personal with the glacier. This is an optional 1/2 to 1-mile hike over a sand and pebble beach. After returning to the base camp, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before your return trip on the custom designed wildlife-viewing boat .

The tour guides were amazing and so kind! They were a highlight of this tour and had wonderful personalities! My husband and I had one day in Skagway and wanted to see wildlife if possible and go hiking. The tour description and title was very misleading. It should have been titled canoe and glacier rather than wilderness safari. There was no safari aspect the speedboat did not stop for wildlife and was over an hour long each way. We took a bus and then two canoes to get to a beautiful glacier but were not able to get close to it. This tour was spent mostly commuting and lacked safari and wildlife scenery. We felt that we wasted this day and wished we could have seen more of Skagway and glacier bay than Alaska the 6 hours we spent on this tour- 5 1/2 hours just commuting.

This was the highlight of our Alaska cruise. We lucked out and had small group of 6 tourists. The boat trip, canoe trip and glacier experience was unparalleled. We were blessed with good weather and our guides were fun and knowledgeable! I was especially impressed by the young women who live out in the “middle of nowhere” with very limited resources who are so delightful and happy to share their experience with us.

Whoever thought of the business model to employ a bunch of young, responsible people in the summer season while they’re off from school or just trying to find themselves, was a genius. Especially whomever runs this company. All staff were very well educated and trained while having a comradely that rivals that of military personnel. And they made the trip incredibly fun and interactive! We participated on the morning of July 30th. Our boat captain and tour guide were hilarious while they made sure we didn’t miss a thing, from slowing down and turning around to look at whales to brining us right up to a waterfall, all the while educating us on the history of the area. Our bus ride was fun and the camping was much easier than it sounds. Cooper was our canoe guide and he really helped make the trip magical. All staff were personable and the food at the end was adequate too. I definitely recommend this trip to anyone!
