The canvas-covered log framed structure where we pan for gold is located just across from our walking bridge, between our office and the gift shop. Depending on the salmon run, we can often spy salmon in the creek. The covered troughs allow us to stay dry while panning, which makes this the perfect activity, rain or shine!

Larry was great in explaining how to pan for gold and he had great information on the history of Seward. We had a great time.

We had a group of 8 ranging in ages from 8 to 71 and we all had a good time! We learned some history on the gold rush and gold panning in general and then got to do some panning ourselves! We all found some gold and a few other little gems. We had a great time! Thanks!
