We had a lovely tour of the Grand Canyon and Sedona with Cody! We were not sure what to expect as we were traveling with our 9 and 12 year old children. I was worried they would not be comfortable or wouldn't be able to hold their bladder but it was all good. The van was larger and fits 10-12 passengers with leg room for everyone. Cody was prompt in picking us up from the hotel where we signed the disclaimer paperwork. We then picked up a few other passengers around town and got on the road. Once on the highway, Cody was great at sharing history of surroundings landscape and infrastructure. After about 1.5 hours we stopped in Flagstaff for a break at a McDonalds/Gas combo where we were able to buy snacks/coffee and use the facilities. Cody did not mind us eating or drinking in van but did ask that we clean up after ourselves. Once we arrived at our stop at the Canyon, the bathrooms were right there and then we had time to walk around and get photos for about 40 minutes. Back in the van and off to lunch at a great sandwhich/salad place that had great food, milkshakes, etc. Then off we go to the lovely Sedona; the route to get there was beautiful, curvy and scenic. There was lovely sights, shops, wine tastings, ice cream, etc. We were there for over an hour and was perfect time to enjoy the scenery. Cody then took us to perfect photo overlook for last minute photos. Once we all had our photos, off we went home where Cody dropped us all off at our respective locations. Cody was nice, personable, knowledgeable, and we were happy to learn that we were supporting a hard working small business owner.
My tips for others: take a sweatshirt/light jacket even in the summer because you are sharing the vehicle and air vents with others, bring snacks, go to the facilities at every location, take anti-nausea meds if car sickness is a possibility and be respectful and clean up after yourself. Also, be considerate and don't bring stinky foods on the bus. I hope this was helpful for others who have questions regarding the process and details.
Thanks to Cody for an amazing time!
